4. FORFEITS -  a. If teams cannot arrange to complete make-up games within 14 days, the Statistician should be contacted as soon as possible to determine which team shall be given the forfeit. b. If a disagreement should come about as to which team be given the forfeit, the Statistician shall inform the Board President and the Board shall invite both Teams to a hearing. The Board will then decide the forfeit based on facts brought out during the hearing. c. Except in the case of an emergency, teams failing to give their opponents a 24- hour notice that they cannot play on scheduled night or fail to show up by 7:15 p.m. on scheduled night, will forfeit. d. Any Team receiving a forfeit will not be given any wins. However, the team that forfeits will be given five (5) losses. 5. MAINTAINING BALANCE CLASSES - a. Teams shall remain in same class throughout the season. b. Teams failing to finish any scheduled round - 1. All games pitched against a team which drops out shall not be included in won/loss record. 2. Another team with players of comparable ringer percentage may fill the vacancy for following rounds. 3. BHA members who were at the forty-foot line in the previous year and move to the thirty- foot line will be required to re-establish handicap at the thirty-foot line. 4. BHA members who were at the forty-foot line at the beginning of the BHA season and experience circumstances which allow them to pitch from the thirty-foot line will be required to re-establish handicap at the thirty-foot line. 6. COMPETITION AND SCORING - a. Each match will consist of each member of one team playing each member of opposing team one singles game plus one doubles game. b. Each game shall count as 1 in the Class standings for a total of 5 per match. c. Games may be 50-point or less as decided by each Division. d. Qualified disabled, elderly, women, and junior members will be permitted to pitch from the 30-foot distance in BHA play. 7. HANDICAP SYSTEM – The handicap system, determined by the BHA Board of Directors, shall be used in all Divisions and Classes. The statistician shall post the current ringer percentage of each player at the start of Division play and weekly thereafter. 8. SEASON OF PLAY – The season shall be scheduled by the Board to accommodate the Divisions. 9. TROPHIES – The following trophies shall be awarded: a. A trophy shall be awarded to the sponsors of the first and second place teams in each class. b. A trophy shall be presented to each member of the first and second place teams in each class. 10. COURTS – The Board will assign a court to each team. It will be the responsibility of each team to keep their assigned court in top playing condition during the season. 11. NATIONAL HORSESHOE PITCHERS ASSOCIATION (NHPA) – The Board will, as may be applicable and determined necessary from time to time, adopt and implement NHPA rules and regulations to benefit BHA. 12. NORTH DAKOTA HORSESHOE PITCHERS ASSOCIATION (NDHPA) – The Board will, as may be applicable and determined necessary from time to time, adopt and implement NHPA rules and regulations to benefit BHA. 13. DISPUTES – As the Governing Authority the Board shall posses final rule making authority regarding any and all disputes involving application and or interpretations of the BHA Constitution and or By-Laws and or decision making authority regarding circumstances not defined in NHPA, NDHPA, or BHA Rules. VI. DUES BHA dues shall be collected before Divisional play as set by the Board and approved by the general membership at the Annual Spring Meeting for: 1. BHA Membership 2.
